ISRL is excited to announce the first no caution, mandatory pit Superspeedway Fall Heat Series, kicking off this Thursday, September 15.
A new format for this season’s 10-race Superspeedway series which will include two 15-lap heat races and a 30-lap feature race every race night. This 10-race championship season will be the first series with cautions turned off for every event. This popular mode makes for exciting racing, but helps keep a more calm tone to the race as drivers know once they wreck, they are out of contention for that race.
The first heat race is the only session that has a standard 2-lap qualifying run, as the field will be completely inverted for the second heat. The lineup for the feature will be the finishing order from Heat 2.
Another exciting addition to this seasons Superspeedway series is the mandatory pit stop. In every event, drivers will be required to make a mandatory 2-tire pit stop between laps 2 and 12. This type of racing has become the most popular in iRacing Hosted sessions, as it brings a ton of excitement to pit road.
This season will use a standard points pay out (40 points to win, down to 1 point to finish 40th) for each feature race, but a unique payout to those drivers that finish in the Top 5 in each of the heat races (1st receives five points to 5th receiving 1).
The high line in the virtual world of iRacing may not exist, but all of the great features of this format will make for an exciting season. Some drivers racing for points, some racing for wins. Strategy for pitting, pit road, and where to finish in that first heat race. Everyone at ISRL is pumped, and we hope to see you there.
